so code geas is about this kid who is like the exiled son of the king of Britianica, but then he's got like 30 kids so it doesn't really matter. so like, in this britian kinda totally took over the world, and japan was renamed area 11. anyway, so watshisface...LeLouch right, rescues this freaky green haired girl named CeCe and she gives him the power of Geas, so like his eyes turn red, or wait, eye, then he tells someone to do something and then they have to do it, like even if he tells people to kill themselves. Actually, he tells lots and lots of people to kill themselves. but he can only do it once to each person, but the effects are permanent. Anyway, so he's all ticked off at his dad for killing his mom or sumthing like that so he joins some Japan Resistance group wearing this mask and calling himself Zero and they have all these awesome robots called knightmare Frames, that get this, japan, i mean area 11, DIDNT invent. Britain did. So he is basically a crazy insane strategical genius murderer just like Light in death note, but without the L. Instead, there are multiple not as smart L's, which are like all of Britain's generals and watnot. yeah, but the first season is already over, so you gotta watch that before season two starts on adult swim. it mught have actually already begun...

That actually sounds kinda good (though your description was kinda hard to follow). Have you read the manga? Nevermind. I just looked it up and found out that the anime came first. Which means the Mt. Prospect Library will mysteriously buy the DVDs of it very, very soon. Because I still like watching things on DVD, despite the new computer.

So, I started watching this... er, yesterday on Crunchyroll (legal subbed anime online yay). ADDICTING!!! And, yeah, Lelouch = Light, basically. I kind of consider Suzaku to be the L of the series, though. Because they're friends and enemies at the same time. That also makes C.C. = Ryuk. Which makes a lot of sense, in a weird way. Also, the Japanese voice actor for LeLouch (Fukuyama Jun) also voiced Koutarou from Angelic Layer and Kimihiro from xxxHolic. It confuses me how this is possible.

YAY CODE GEASS!
I got the second DVD out of the library for our viewing pleasure.
Anyway, this revitalization shall fail without something to discuss. Um... who should Lelouch end up with? (This should be a poll or something)
Are you siding with Lelouch or Suzaku?
Chaotic good vs. Lawful evil? (Ohwait, TV tropes reference, and I don't feel like staring at the computer screen for hours on end right now.)
Or... let's talk more about the similarities to Death Note!
Hm... Lelouch obviously is the parallel Light. He's not exactly like Light, though. At some points, Lelouch actually feels bad about killing people and doubts what he's doing and stuff like that. Light... kinda doesn't. He only ever worries about killing people in the first half of the first volume, and he's fine for the rest of the series after that. Light never even stops to wonder if being god is worth the death of his dad, whereas 1/2 of Lelouch's whole purpose is to make sure his sister doesn't become a pawn in a Britannian conspiracy. (Then again, part of Lelouch's plan is to basically murder his own father.)
Oooh, another good one, Light is totally like the "perfect student," while Lelouch sleeps in class or just doesn't show up all the time. Lelouch has friends... Light only has L, if he even counts as a friend. And maybe Misa-misa, but I think Light just thought of her as another pawn...

yeah, but also, *SPPPPOOOIIIIIILLLLLEERRRRRRSSSSSSS TO ANYONE READING THIS!!!!* what about LeLouch systematically killing off all the other resistance groups so he wouldn't have any competion? Remember, was it...the Japan Liberation Front? Remember, he ~freaking~ BLEW THEM UP and then had the balls to be all like "Why, how dare they take the cowards way out by commiting suicide." and during the finale, he was all like, sending his geased soldiers to death in waves, all russia style.
