How would J.A.M.M. Club be run?
The Japanese Anime Manga Manhwa Club will be run by the six "founding mothers:" Kelly, Nicolette, Quinn, Victoria (Viki), Hannah, and Lydia. Each of our specific duties will vary depending on our individual interests, skills, and availability. Other members of the club may be appointed at a later date to run specific activities.
A typical meeting will start with an introduction by one of the founders. Members will be reminded of upcoming meetings and activities, and new members will be asked to write down their name and e-mail address. We will also have calendars available listing the upcoming meetings and activities. Because we expect a large number of members to join, the club will then separate into smaller groups based on interests, such as anime/manga/manhwa discussion, art, or Japanese language/culture groups. These groups will be purely informal and will be flexible within and between meetings.
The six founders will maintain an online forum to be used for communication between members. (http://phsanimefans.proboards62.com) Other club members may be appointed to help maintain the forum and will be granted forum moderation powers in order to do so. The forum will be regulated according to school rules and will be used for club purposes only, such as listing upcoming meetings in the calendar and using polls to make democratic decisions for the club.
From experience starting the club, we believe that membership and publicity will not be problems for the club. We plan to have a reminder read during morning announcements the day before the club's first meeting and the day of the club's first meeting. After the first meeting, reminders will only be needed on the day of club meetings.
