Does anyone have any of these games or is anyone willing to purchase one so that we can learn it next year at club or whatnot
I would buy a shougi board if someone would learn it with me and help me teach it (if staff allows it of course)

I'd definitely be willing to learn how to play Shougi! And, of course it's allowed! The only real distinction is that we want to recognize that not everyone will want to play Japanese games. It fits in with the original plan to have the club separate into groups for actvities during meetings. (See here for more info) I'd be willing to get a set of Hanafuda cards... I've been meaning to, but, after going to ACen and Mitsuwa, I'm pretty much broke... So, if I can scrounge up some money this summer.... I sort of know how to play Go, too... There's a lot of places to play online... And, it'd be pretty easy to make a Go board (not to mention easier to bring to school, too)... Basically, draw 19 horizontal lines and 19 vertical lines on a large piece of cardboard... And then use black & white beads for pieces... I could probably do that if anyone's interested in learning/playing Go... Unless someone already has an actual board they're willing to bring in, that is...
