I joined JAMM club this year, and I am new to this whole blog thing. Believe it or not, the first time I sent one of these messages was two days ago! Anyway, I was curious how you are able to get a picture by your profile and how you can get more stars. I have only one star, just like a bad movie... Anyway...if you could help me, that would be great. Thanks!

to add an avatar (the pic next to name), go to edit profile and type in the url of teh pic you want.
stars have to do with number of posts or if your admin or not, I don't remember.
hope that helps, any other question pm an admin.

Stars go by staff-ness/level. (It used to be by post count, back in freshman year/summer?)
Members = 1 star Moderators = 2 Global Moderators = 3 Universal Moderators = 4 Admins = 5
EDIT: Moving to Forum Help board.

Thank you guys! As you shall see, I have obtained a picture...however, it was tough to not choose the custom avatar of the rabbit. I may change it to that in the future! In addition, I am happy with one star! In just under 24 hours, I have become appreciative of my star! ;D

For a signature, you just go to your profile, click the modify profile link, and there should be a box for signatures somewhere. Fill it with whatever you want, but it has to be done in HTML I believe.

No, BBC code. It's like pseudo-HTML. HTML with training wheels.

That's how you insert an image into your signature.

What is karma in the blog's sense? At the bottom, what does "Exalt" and "Smite" mean? confusion! Although not as confusing as XXX Holic sometimes gets.
ADDED ON 11/29- My questions have not been answered. There are some other ones that I have but I forgot them. I think that this category should be checked more often. Until someone sees this, they will not know that my questions are still standing. Sorry if I am being to forceful, but I have been patiently waiting for a long time. Thank you for your previous advice, however.

Exalt gives someone +1 karma; smite gives someone -1 karma. You'd usually use it when that person posts something you like/dislike. Karma is your delta-x of exalts/smites.
I know we mentioned before not to double post, but it's okay to double post if you are "bumping" the thread so it is noticed again (within reason). (Threads with new posts are in bold on the front page, on the most recent list, go to the top of the board page, etc.)
Also, this isn't really for you in particular; I just realized that a lot of people in the club may not have used internet forums much, so I thought a little word guide would be helpful. Sorry if it seems like I'm being picky for no reason!
This whole website = a "forum" "category" = a group of boards (on this forum, "Language/Culture," "Graphic Novels," etc.) "board" = a place where you make threads (on this forum, "Anime," "Video Games," "Japanese," etc.) "thread" = one 'conversation' or topic (like this one)
So, it goes Forum > Category > Board > Thread > Posts.
